What Is Hiero Day?
Hiero Day is an annual hip-hop festival founded and run by the Hieroglyphics Imperium collective. It started in 2012 as a birthday celebration for Del tha Funkee Homosapien (born August 12) and has grown into a major Bay Area cultural event drawing around 8,500 attendees each year.
What makes Hiero Day different:

Hiero Day History
Hiero Day has run annually since 2012. What started as a birthday block party for Del has become an Oakland institution — a genuine community event that belongs to the city. Attendance has grown from a few hundred in 2012 to approximately 8,500 in recent years.
Red Rocks 2026: The Other Major Hiero Event
The crew is also headlining Red Rocks Amphitheatre on October 29, 2026 — with Cypress Hill, Method Man & Redman, and De La Soul. A rare opportunity to see Hieroglyphics in a major venue.
