About Hiero Day
Hiero Day is the annual free hip-hop festival produced by Hieroglyphics Imperium in Oakland, California. Born from the label’s commitment to the Oakland community, it has grown from a neighborhood block party into one of the Bay Area’s most beloved cultural events — drawing ~8,500 attendees and fans from around the world.
Held on Labor Day weekend, Hiero Day celebrates Oakland’s contribution to hip-hop history while showcasing the full Hiero crew: Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Souls of Mischief, Casual, Pep Love, DJ Toure, and more. It’s free, it’s Oakland, and it’s always fire.
Every year, Hiero Day brings together the community that made this music possible — and the artists who never forgot where they came from.
