Hieroglyphics new album 'The Kitchen'  hits the ground 'rolling' with an exclusive video premiere on Rollingstone.com

"The video for the album's second single, 'It's Partly Me,' is set in 1973-4 in Oakland and West Oakland (retro white block letters distinguish between the years and areas). It showcases members of the collective in full 1970s style, from 'staches and 'fros to round glasses and patterned button-down shirts." - Rolling Stone

New Hiero Album

While you anxiously wait for fresh beats and healthy rhymes, check out this quick review by Access Hip Hop on the new project.

Album release - "The Kitchen LP is an album that blends the ingredients of archival audio, new music and collaboration between turntabilism, beat chopping and lyricisim together to form an original authentic entree for your ears to devour and digest. For this special project Hiero has enlisted the skills and support of Sacramento based DJ and beat chopping crew The Sleeprockers. They bring the skills of master chefs dealing with quality ingredients to create a concoction of seamless yet eclectic flavors for the rare hip-hop palate in the process. The Kitchen has come to embody a space for experimental collaboration that knows no limits of boundaries while maintaining a sense of respect for the tradition that these recipes come from." - Access Hip-Hop

The new album is out next week!! Click here for fresh Pre-order packages!!!!!

souls in columbus

Check out this recent article about the Columbus Ohio stop of the Still Infinity tour. The blog also talks a bit about the history of Hiero and hip-hop in the 90's.

“...Souls dropped amidst a brewing coastal feud where people had a huge bias against West Coast artists.  Hiero along with Project Blowed, and Pharcyde were the anomaly that disrupted regional stereotypes. But just because they weren’t gangsta rap; Hiero wasn’t not ashamed of being from Cali although they were one of the few groups accepted by their NY underground peers.. Hiero was just doing their own thing. They were normal people at peace with what they were doing.” - 12ozProphet

The Still Infinity Tour continues to rip through the country! Check out all the upcoming tour dates and come on out if we’re cruising through your city!!!

adrian younge

There's massive buzz in the hip hop community about today's announcement - Adrian Younge and Souls of Mischief have officially created a new concept album!

"Today on Sway In The Morning, producer/musician Adrian Younge and hip-hop group Souls of Mischief announced that they’d be releasing a joint album via RZA’s Soul Temple Records, due out this September. In an interview with XXL earlier this week, Younge dished on the concept behind the album—which has its own storyline, as did Younge’s recent output Twelve Reasons To Die with Ghostface Killah—as well as the style and feel of the project, and the involvement of Ali Shaheed Muhammad." - Rapnation

“And it’s also a concept album too—Souls of Mischief almost gets killed by some dude that was just crazy and the whole album just starts off with this incident, and then it blossoms into these different stories that are a result of this volatile incident." - XXL

To top it off, the album is narrated by A Tribe Called Quest member Ali Shaheed Muhammad! We'll keep you posted when more news pops off about this project.
